Discrepancy Reports Explorer Option

The Discrepancy Reports window displays the outstanding CMDB Resource Reports (reports to be reviewed) linked to the entity.

During a regulated scan, when conflicts are detected between discovered external resource properties and mapped entity fields, a Discrepancy Report is generated, displaying the difference between an external resource and linked entities.

This report could be used to detect whether:

  • a change request was completed successfully
  • an unauthorized change has been applied to the entity

Before you start

You must have Federated CMDB Admin selected in your Configuration Management Role Details. It appears above the tabs.

  1. From the Details window, expand the Federated CMDB group in the Explorer pane if necessary.
  2. Select the Discrepancy Reports option .
  3. The outstanding Resource Reports (reports to be reviewed) currently linked to the entity are displayed. (You may like to adjust the column widths to see all of the columns.)
  4. Select to delete the outstanding report items from this window and instruct the system to scan the linked resources for current discrepancies and refreshes the table with the latest report items.
  5. Select to apply the actions specified by the Analyst in the table.
  6. Select from the toolbar or at the top of the Explorer pane to return to the Details window.
